This is one of the pioneers of the bus conversion industry. This model has a front engine commonly referred to as front controls. The more popular Bluebird would be the one with the rear engine. This is a fine coach, very safe and very strong, as it was originally built to be a school bus. However, because it is a modified front-style frame, stretched with a box mounted on top of it, you have a very strong safe frame. But this does not offer the full storage system built into the chassis as in a true monocoque chassis. This means your entire chassis is built of modular structure, opening itself up to be a great storage vehicle with see-through bays. The truck frame style is really just a heavier version of how the lighter motor homes are built. This chassis is easier and quicker to build, which makes them much less expensive than a true over-the-road coach. We have recently received quotes of a 1997 40' Bluebird shell for less than $75,000. That same size over-the-road coach would run over $200,000. So you can see there is an obvious structural and economical advantage. And an over-the-road coach is designed to go between 1 and 3 million miles for its life expectancy. A school bus is designed for approximately one-half million miles. Other Images of Bluebirds
